Tickets for the AEG Presents concert are scheduled to go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at AXS.com. Prices will range from $39.50 (standing room) to $124.50.

A presale will be held 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday, with the code AMPFeb. For more information visit PompanoBeachArts.org.

The centerpiece of a $3.5 million renovation of the Pompano Beach Amphitheater is a new tensile-fabric roof, which provides cover for the seating area while retaining an open-air environment. Other upgrades include new restrooms, an updated concession stand, new stage lighting and ticket booth improvements.

In a statement about the reopening, Pompano Beach Mayor Rex Hardin said construction is in its final phase.

“For those who have weathered the storm with many legendary bands, we know you’ll appreciate these stunning new enhancements,” Hardin said.

In celebrating the pandemic-delayed reopening of such a popular local concert venue, you’d be hard-pressed to find a band that will bring more joy to the nostalgic heart of more South Floridians than Styx.

Still led by Tommy Shaw and James “JY” Young, the band boasts sing-along anthems that defined pop and rock radio in the 1970s and ‘80s: “The Grand Illusion,” “Blue Collar Man,” “Lady,” “Man in the Wilderness,” “Crystal Ball,” “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Too Much Time on My Hands” and “Mr. Roboto.”

The band is touring in support of its first studio album in four years, “Crash of the Crown.” For more information, visit StyxWorld.com.
